PDC Darts Event in Vegas

The entertainment capital of the world welcomes back the world's top darts players for the seventh Desert Classic, with The Power Phil Taylor defending his title in July 2010.

The £126,400 ($250,000 approx.) tournament begins with two days of qualifiers before five days of televised knockout action on stage at the Mandalay Bay Ballroom.

The Desert Classic is one of the sport's most exciting events, seeing the PDC's top 12 players and four leading north Americans joined by 16 qualifiers in the first round.

"The PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic produces upsets and excitement every year," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "The setting is magnificent and certainly brings the best out of players.

"The open qualifiers give every dart player the chance to win a place in the tournament, and we have players from as far afield Australia and Japan travelling to this year's event to try and achieve their dream."
