Previous Premier League runner-up defeated by Phil Taylor and a great attitude on the oche, Scholten was up there with the best in darts for a long while.
Best results at the World Champonships : Quarter Finals: 2001 & 2003.
Early Years
Shortly after losing in the quarter-finals to Ronnie Baxter in the 1999 Embassy World Championship, Scholten left the BDO and switched to the PDC. Made his PDC World Championship debut in 2001 reaching the quarters. Also, 2001 World Grand Prix Runner Up.
Great Darts
Roland's time came in 2004 where he won the Darts UK Open Title, a major prize Scholten was long overdue.
