PDC Blackpool Empress Ballroom, Winter Gardens hosts the PDC's tournament of the summer which starts on Saturday 20th July through to the Final on Sunday 28th July 2019.
Players: 32 of the world's top stars compete - including reigning champion Gary Anderson.
Gary Anderson begins his title defence and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Who will be crowned Champion?
It's the 26th World Matchplay tournament with 32 players all competing to lift the Phil Taylor Trophy.
Phil Taylor himself won this event 16 times. In 2002, the 'Power' hit the first ever nine dart finish to be broadcast live on UK television.
Michael van Gerwen is likely to be the favourite going into this tournament (Twice crowned champion).
Format
First Round - Best of 19 legs
Second Round - Best of 21 legs
Quarter-Finals - Best of 31 legs
Semi-Finals - Best of 33 legs
Final - Best of 35 legs
Each game must be won by two clear legs, with up to a maximum of five additional legs being played before the 6th "extra" leg is sudden-death. There will be no re-throw for the bull in this instance.
