PDC Worlds 2018 : Day Two Results (Friday 14 Dec)

Gary Anderson (2-Time World Champion got off to a decent start with a 3-1 victory against Kevin Burness at the (Ally Pally) Alexandra Palace, London.

Friday (Day 2) of the PDC World Championship was shown live on Sky Sports.

Semi-finalist Jamie Lewis beats Cody Harris to further progress to round three.

Geordie Aussie Paul Nicholson lost all three sets to Kevin Burness who was then beaten in the evening session 3 sets to 1 against former World Champion Gary Anderson.

Anderson admitted "It wasn't my best performance. Very Tough opponent, he proved that from the start but luckily the 180s started going in and I got over the line without any dramas."

Dutchman Danny Noppert made a comfortable debut victory with nine consecutive legs defeating Hong Kong's Royden Lam. Noppert said "I didn't feel any pressure in that game."

Danny continued to say "It was a crazy atmosphere. I got goosebumps on the stage and thoroughly enjoyed it. It makes me feel very confident and not nervous at all so we will see what happens in the next round."

Chris Dobey progressed into the second round with a 3-0 victory of Russia's Boris Koltsov.

Dobey said "I am much more relaxed than I have ever been. I am enjoying my darts now."

Ted Evetts won his first Alexandra Palace victory with a 3-0 victory over Simon Stevenson.

Alan Tabern will now have the huge task of taking on world number one Michael van Gerwen in Round Two following his 3-2 win against Australia's Raymond Smith.
